Making his debut in 2007 with an independently released album Irreversible, Seattle-based rapper/producer Grieves is now preparing to drop his fifth full-length Running Wild, his first in three years.
Just shared last week, "RX" is the first single from Running Wild, which is expected for release on August 25. Deeply personal with heavy lyrics and haunting electronic melodies, "RX" hits you like a wave breaking on the shore. "This song is about my battle with anxiety and panic attacks," Grieves revealed about the track. "To me it almost sounds like drowning. The verses have this tension and by the time the chorus hits, you feel at peace and underwater. It breaks a lot of boundaries for me artistically. It's big, it's modern, it's dark, it's vulnerable, and it's real."
