Artist, DJ, and producer Dillon Francis has teamed up with merengue singer-songwriter Fuego on a brand new track that is sure to get you on your feet.
Blending sensual Latin rhythms with hypnotic electro beats and Fuego's raspy vocals, "What The Funk" overflows with vibrant energy and awesome style. "I've been really focused on having fun while making music," Francis said. "Fuego is a fun dude, so when we cut the song in Mexico all the pieces fell together pretty quickly from there."
Directed by Erik Rojas, the super colorful music video brings the pair to a rooftop in downtown Los Angeles where they find themselves joined by a team of dancing partygoers. "When I first heard 'We the Funk', I immediately envisioned colors, dancing and fun," Rojas said. "I'm Colombian and grew up surrounded by Latin music and culture, so I really wanted to channel that amazing vibrance into this piece. Dillon and Fuego were incredible to work with and their energy really allowed us to make something super rad!"
"What The Funk" follows "Ven" (featuring Arcángel and Quimico Ultra Mega) as the second single to be released from Francis's upcoming Spanish language album. The album draws on the platinum-selling artist's early Latin influences and moombahton roots, and is scheduled to drop later this year. Watch "What The Funk" below.
Francis is currently preparing to perform at a variety of international music festivals and will soon resume his residency at the Wynn Las Vegas.
