Up-and-coming pop artist LIVVIA isn't new to the music industry.
When she was only 13 years old, the singer, songwriter, dancer, and musician started touring with major artists like Meghan Trainor, Jessie J., and The Jonas Brothers. Now a student at UC Berkeley, LIVVIA has developed a vibrant pop sound and is continuing to pursue her career by dropping a viral new club-ready single.
"Catch A Body" is a flirty bop with an edge, thanks to dangerously hot lyrics and the vocal contribution of Migos's Quavo. "My producers, Rock Mafia, sent the song to Quavo’s team and he heard it and loved it and wanted to be a part of it!" LIVVIA told Musical Notes Global. "The first time I heard his feature through the speakers I thought, ‘this is amazing.’ He totally bodied the song."
Within the first week of its release, the single shot to #10 on Spotify's Viral 50 chart, was added to various tastemaker playlists including Apple Music's Best of the Week in France, Germany and Austria, and has now accumulated over 630k plays. "The response has really blown me away so far," she said. "I love reading the comments online. It feels great to finally have it out there for people to hear. We made it on Spotify’s viral charts —Global, US, and a number of other countries — in the first week, which I hadn’t even thought to hope for!"
While at first listen "Catch A Body" is a fun dance track, dig a little deeper and there's a fantastic and timely message to be discovered. "On the surface, it’s a great party / pump up song and great to dance to," LIVVIA explained. "On a deeper level, it celebrates girls having the confidence to go after what they want. I wanted the video to echo that message of empowerment, so I made a mini action movie and did all of my stunts, which was the most amazing experience."
"Catch A Body" will be featured on LIVVIA's forthcoming EP, which is due for release this year. Watch the action-packed music video, directed by Jay Martin, below.
