Rising pop starlet Anja Kotar is back with brand new music!

Her latest work of art, “Kids,” is an insightful commentary on social media and the sense of false-reality it creates for its users. “‘Kids’ serves as an exposition to the millennial generation,” Kotar explains. “It looks at our relationship with each other, to the world around us, and ultimately, technology and how that affects us as we’re being young and engaged in the modern age.”

Bringing together two of the Slovenian-born, California-based artist’s greatest passions—music and fashion—the video is stunning in its simplicity yet maintains the powerful message conveyed through the song’s lyrics. While the white backdrop represents the cold, harsh reality that plagues our daily lives, the flowers represent the fairytale life we present on social media, with each color bearing a meaning that describes a characteristic of the millennial generation: pink = vanity, blue = melancholy, yellow = felicity, purple = apathy, red = romance, and green = boredom. “Throughout the video, I carry more and more flowers in my hands, alluding to getting caught up in the online fantasy and progressively exaggerating it,” Kotar says.
