Brooklyn-based singer and songwriter Sarah Cobb, a.k.a. ESS SEE, is currently preparing to release her new album Waiting For The Sky To Fall, but in the meantime she’s shared a beautiful single titled “No. 1” that will resonate with women everywhere.
Since 2009, Cobb has been honing her craft by producing her own electro-pop demos in her bedroom at night. Channeling lyrical influences like St. Vincent, Emily Haines, Carole King, she has managed to create a vulnerable, incredibly intimate sound made dreamy with her delicate vocals and ethereal production.
“No. 1” sees ESS SEE putting herself first, demanding authority and reminding listeners that she, and all women, deserve to be acknowledged and respected. Watch as she talks the story behind the song with Musical Notes Global after the jump.
