It's What's Your Pick Wednesday with MNGBlog!

Perhaps best known for his starring role on the hit television series Nashville, Riley Smith is now venturing into country music himself and has just released the first single from his upcoming EP.

Titled "I'm On Fire," the single represents an important period of time for the star. "I'm on Fire exemplified what my time writing in Nashville was all about to me," he said. "The synergy. The talent." Co-written by Matthew Perryman Jones and Tim Lauer (Hank Williams, Shawn Mendes, Blake Shelton), the track blends country rock, Americana, and modern pop to create a warm and infectious sound that draws listeners in and makes them feel at home.

Smith, who pulls his inspiration from the array of musicians he's collaborated with upon his arrival in Nashville, is currently working on his five-track self-titled EP inspired by his time in that city and the emotions he experienced while living there. "There's a common theme of distance and space running through the EP," he said. "There's a longing and yearning to the music. Lonesome at times."

The EP is scheduled for release worldwide on July 21. For all of Riley Smith's latest news and updates, follow him on social media:
