JD & The Straight Shot Releases All-Acoustic Album Good Luck And Good Night

New York City-based American band JD & The Straight Shot have just released their new album Good Luck and Good Night.

Fronted by guitarist Jim Dolan, the band also comprises bassist Byron House (Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton), violinist/fiddler Erin Slaver (Martina McBride, Rod Stewart), guitarist Marc Copely (B.B. King, Roseanne Cash), and drummer/percussionist Shawn Pelton (Sheryl Crow, Leon Helm, Saturday Night Live band). Blending elements of roots music and classic rock, the band's biggest influences can be clearly heard throughout the 10 tracks included on Good Luck and Good Night. Sounds from The Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles, and especially those from traditional Irish folk music and classical music, make the album a unique stand-out that must be listened to from start to finish.

From the scandalous passion of ballad "I Know You Know I Know" to the children's choir-sung chorus of the title track (a commentary on the divisive state of news reporting today) to the heart-wrenching lyrics that reveal the dark reality of domestic abuse in "Tonight," Good Luck And Good Night is a delectable all-acoustic, banjo-and-fiddle-driven masterpiece, sweeping listeners into the insanely rich depths of its poignant storytelling, mesmerizing melodies, and Dolan's haunting, raw vocals.

“We pushed ourselves harder than ever before on this album and are so proud of the new music,” Dolan said about the collection.
