New York-based singer and songwriter Elesa Marmo has made her debut as a solo artist with the release of a brand new EP.

Formerly one half of indie duo The Wilts, Marmo makes an impressive splash with Clear Blue, a sparkling electro-tinged four-track collection produced by Greg Almeida of alt rock band VISTA.

"This is a dream," she said about the release. "I've always wanted to have music out that was completely mine."

Incorporating acoustic elements and Marmo's sweet vocals, the EP's overall sound is wonderfully reminiscent of that of artists like Jewel and 10,000 Maniacs. Delving into a range of emotions, the songs provoke everything from joy to heartache. "I just want them [listeners] to enjoy the songs and feel the lyrics and relate to them or dance or cry or whatever they want," she said. "It’s all very honest words that definitely show what my style is and what kind of music I like even though each song has a kind of different sound."
