Electropop group Beginners is gifting listeners with delicious synth-driven indie pop that's edgy, super addicting and totally perfect for taking a drive with the top down.

The Los Angeles-based band has been featured in commercial campaigns for Taco Bell, Ray Ban, and more, and has also received TV placements on shows like New Girl, Riverdale, and The Vampire Diaries. As they prepare to release their new album Cream, the trio's lead singer Samantha Barbera talked to Musical Notes Global about everything from their latest single "Let That Money Talk" to why they love performing live, and more. Check out the interview below.

Here's the scoop on our new single "Let That Money Talk": I spent a shocking amount of 2017 inside of Jumbo's Clown Room, an iconic LA strip club. Somehow the night always led me back there; often with a girl who I was desperately infatuated with. It was exhilarating and tortuous spending night after night in such a sexually charged environment, yet always winding up alone. I wrote "Let That Money Talk" after one of these long nights. There was a metaphoric magic between the unrequited love of spectator to dancer, and myself to this girl. Always given just enough to want more. That was the impetus of "Let That Money Talk, or as we like to call it "Jumbo's Song".

Our favorite part of recording the song was: I wrote and recorded the vocals to "Let That Money Talk" at 3am after coming home from Jumbo's Clown Room drunk and sexually frustrated. I love that about the song because when I listen back I can really hear that longing in my voice. It's amazing when you're able to capture those kinds of moments in the final recording.

We're excited about the release because: We're super excited to share CREAM with everyone finally. The songs really narrate the last year for us and me personally, from sex to money to loss. Also, I wrote a big portion of the record in Berlin which really comes through on the record.

We hope listeners love it as much as we do!

Something that fans might not know about us is that we all grew up and met in the punk/hardcore scene.

We love performing live because it gives us a chance to take our pop songs and deliver them in a raw and rock n roll way.

We love our fans because: We are so insanely thankful for our fans. We're kind of locked away in a bubble when we're writing our records, just trying to create music we love and that means something to us. So it's always super gratifying when we're able to share it with the world and other people love it just as much as we do.

One day we hope to: We really hope to tour Europe soon! Hopefully we'll get something booked for this summer!
