You might recognize Utkarsh Ambudkar as Mindy's little brother on The Mindy Project, and while on the show he plays an aspiring rapper, what you may not know is that he actually is a rapper IRL!

A native of Baltimore, Ambudkar was an original member of The Beatards, an NYC-based underground hip-hop group, and even helped originate the role of Aaron Burr in developmental readings of Hamilton. His own personal brand of hip-hop is raw and real, and through it he addresses race, the first generation immigrant experience, politics, and Hollywood.

In anticipation of the release of his new solo project, Ambudkar recently dropped his first single "Vanity," an introspective look at the ego and self-obsession featuring Rafael Casal, Daveed Diggs, and producers The Olympiks. Check out "Vanity" below.
