Alternative pop artist Paige Duddy is a rising star.

Performing under the moniker XYLØ, the Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter teamed up with Charli XCX to write her new single “Tears & Tantrums,” out today. An effervescent, high energy dance track, the song is totally addicting and completely relatable after experiencing the pain of a broken heart. It follows the success of her previous singles “Heaven Only Knows, “Don’t Panic,” and “I Don’t Want to See You Anymore.”

“I got to collaborate with some amazing writers and producers on this including Charli XCX, Raye, Siba and Lee Newell. It’s a song about going out after a bad break up and trying to get over that person, but instead crying the whole way through it,” she explained to Musical Notes Global. “I have definitely had a couple of those nights myself. Break ups, alcohol, loud club = breakdown. Lol.”

XYLØ recently began her solo career after parting ways with her brother (together they performed as a duo of the same name). “After being in a band with my brother for almost 3 years we mutually agreed that we want different things,” she revealed. “He is 10 years older than me and is at a different point in his life than I am. XYLØ is how I have always identified myself as an artist- pursuing this has always come first and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. I am so lucky to open up to my fans and show them this side of me that I never felt comfortable showing before. It has been an amazing experience for me, and has helped me grow a lot as a person.”

Her decision to go solo has indeed truly allowed her to soar, and she is steadily building a dedicated following. “I feel so lucky to have the fan base I do,” she said. “They have been SO supportive of me and the music I make. It was nerve racking at first since this is a ‘new era’ and all, but there really was no reason to be. Each song is doing better than the last and I’m so grateful <3”.

As for her plans for the remainder of 2018, she told Musical Notes Global, “I am looking forward to putting out the rest of the music I have planned for this year and playing shows! Its been a minute since I got to play shows in different cities and meet new fans! It’s pretty much my favorite part of being an artist- besides making the music of course!” She also plans to tour for most of next year. “It's so fun releasing music and meeting fans online but I think its really important to build my fanbase face to face. Plus I love nothing more than performing and traveling the world!”
