C. SHIROCK Brings Nostalgia to Modern Love with "Stand With Me Tonight"

chapters in life often come after a change, and this change can take place in the form of moving, getting a new job, or starting over from scratch. So, not only are we forever shifting and adapting, but our surroundings are as well.
Depending on the person, all of these transitions can lead to something great, like a new start as an artist.
Meet C. SHIROCK.
C. SHIROCK is an electro-pop artist and musician whose real name is Chuck Shirock. Shirok was previously a member of SHIROCK, an alternative band, before going solo to evolve his musical identity. “I viewed it as a continuation or an evolution of sorts. It’s been incredibly freeing and liberating to chase whatever turns me on...to create without inhibition,” he said.
The Nashville-based artist’s new project “C. SHIROCK” is heavily inspired by 80’s rock, pop, and R&B artists who are notably vulnerable and melodic in their songs. His single, “Stand With Me Tonight” is an ‘80s romcom anthem brought into 2019’s electro-pop scene. It’s a dreamy-synth pop track with hints of inspiration from David Bowie, Phil Collins, and Prince sprinkled throughout.
The music video for “Stand With Me Tonight” is a just over five-minute prom night homage to ‘80s flicks like Flashdance, The Breakfast Club, and Footloose. It blends nostalgia and timeless boy-meets-girl movie tropes to create a neon-hued, modern love story that millennials, baby boomers, and generation z can all enjoy.
