Juanes, the Colombian singer, songwriter, and renowned innovator known for his insightful songwriting prowess and intelligent take on romance, is a larger than life figure in the international music landscape, and he continues to prove his status as a cultural icon on the world stage with each release he sets forth.

A multi-GRAMMY award winner and 23-time Latin GRAMMY winner, the Medellín-born artist is also a wonderful philanthropist and humanitarian, having founded the Mi Sangre Foundation to support victims of land mine explosions and war-driven violence.

Honored as the 2019 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year, in November, Juanes released his latest album Más Futuro Que Pasado, a collection which he co-produced in large part alongside Andres Torres & Mauricio Rengifo, Mosty, Rafael Arcaute, Tainy, Luis Salazar, Ily Wonder, DVLP, Sky and others. The album, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart, has garnered wide critical praise and multiple awards and nominations, including a Latin GRAMMY for “Pa Dentro,” and produced Juanes’ twelfth No. 1 single in the United States, “Bonita” ft. Sebastian Yatra.

Más Futuro Que Pasado is the follow up to Juanes’ groundbreaking 2017 visual album Mis Planes Son Amarte, a sensitive exploration of love through the eyes of an astronaut and a reflection of the artist’s spiritual journey that garnered two Latin GRAMMY awards in the Best Pop/Rock Album and Best Engineered Album categories. On Más Futuro Que Pasado, the superstar continues to push creative boundaries, looking to the future in all aspects while at the same time celebrating the past with integrity. Fusions that blend his signature rock style with elements of time-honored genres such as cumbia, guasca, vallenato and other folkloric styles are found in abundance, while dembow, pop, and other urban rhythms are organically incorporated to create a sound that is made for the 21st century and, to put it simply, is definitively Juanes.

Further emphasizing his forward-thinking vision, with this release, Juanes demonstrates his enthusiastic support of young rising artists and producers, enlisting the participation of a variety of talents such as Dominican-American MC Fuego on “Mía Mía,” regional Mexican star Christian Nodal on “Tequila,” and Canadian pop sensation Alessia Cara on the Latin GRAMMY-nominated cross-cultural ballad “Querer Mejor.”

Never short on romance, the album’s title track is yet further proof of Juanes’ sensational ability to not only speak to the influence of the most powerful force in the universe, love, but to also so eloquently articulate the rawest emotions and the most vulnerable moments that humans experience during life on Earth. Telling the story of a broken love that has been rebuilt and rediscovered following a period of adversity, “Más Futuro Que Pasado” is a must-listen.

About the video Juanes says: “I’m happy to share this video for different reasons. First, I love the song with my soul, its lyrics and melody touch me in a very special way. Second, because we made it in Medellín with a collective of young and talented artists who we took a chance on and they did not fail us.”

More recently, Juanes released the entrancing music video for “Loco,” a sweet and airy song that whisks listeners away in the electricity of magnetic passion. A true testament to the mesmerizing power of modern graphic design, the visual envelops viewers in a psychedelic world of bright tropical colors and stimulating imagery.
