88rising + Danny Ocean Join Forces on "Midsummer Madness 20"

Global media company 88rising has carved out an amazing niche helping to shine a light on and celebrating Asian talent, stories and culture, and this summer they have joined forces with one of the hottest artists in Latin music to deliver one of the best songs of the season.

Enlisting the talents of Japanese singer-songwriter Joji, Indonesian rapper Rich Brian, Chinese hip-hop group Higher Brothers and songwriter AUGUST 08, along with revolutionary Venezuelan singer-songwriter and producer Danny Ocean, the pioneering music and arts collective has created a new cross-cultural version of the 2018 hit single “Midsummer Madness” titled “Midsummer Madness 20.” Carefree and overflowing with dreamy melodies made for steamy summer nights, the song introduces Ocean’s unmistakable reggaeton stamp and provides listeners with a much-needed escape from the monotony of everyday life.

Uniting two of the world’s powerhouse markets, the mega collaboration breaks barriers and expands our view of what music can look like moving forward, offering up a new trend that has been too long in the making.

“From the first moment, I got caught by the minimalist melody and the lyrics of the chorus,” Ocean says. “I thought it was forthright and risky. I found it interesting to see how it sounded with a reggaeton beat and a Caribbean flow.”

This epic new release will have you dancing right into 2021. Listen to “Midsummer Madness 20” below!
