Today Musical Notes Global has the exclusive premiere of King’s latest work, “Beautiful Soul,” a poignant exploration of personal struggle and the process of overcoming emotional obstacles. With this song, she reminds her listeners that they can break free from what’s holding them back, rediscover their unique inner light, and that healing, although it may be difficult to achieve, is always possible.

“I wrote ‘Beautiful Soul’ in Germany with my friend and producer Markus Klammer,” King explains. “It came at a time when I decided to openly talk about my childhood issues and struggles in my music. It’s part of self therapy and truly a freeing experience to not hide and feel ashamed about that stuff. So the song is about mental health mostly, and a reminder that we all have the light in us and a beautiful soul.”

The music video is a stunning celebration of the majesty of the world’s oceans and sea life. A compelling, hypnotic visual accompaniment for her powerful story, it not only features real whale sounds, but also includes video footage from 7-time Emmy Award winner Howard Hall, who filmed the 1994 IMAX documentary Into the Deep.

A valiant environmentalist and supporter of clean water projects, King will also be donating all proceeds from Bandcamp sales of “Beautiful Soul” to Parley, a non-profit that addresses threats to the oceans and works to preserve the planet’s most important ecosystem. Get it here.
