Over the past five plus years, Brooklyn-based four-piece Shiffley has succeeded in establishing themselves as a NYC favorite thanks to their irresistible brand of synth-driven rock and a stage presence that electrifies every venue they play.

The band’s first 2018 album Paper Cranes, their first full-length, was an astronomical success, quickly racking up over a million streams, and today they return with a brand new single that proves why they are not only a mainstay in the NYC music scene but are well on their way to conquering the entire industry.

Today Musical Notes Global has the exclusive premiere of “Gimme,” a high energy bop loaded with infectious guitars and bass lines that will have Shiffley fans rolling right through the week high on good vibes. Written by the band’s lead singer Alex Ganes, who uses the track as an opportunity to poke fun at himself, the song explores human nature and the ramifications of having self-centered tendencies through a fun and refreshing lens.

"‘Gimme’ is a self-criticism of selfishness – spun out into a caricature and made lighthearted by its soundtrack,” Ganes notes. “The lyrics are from the perspective of someone who expects everything handed to him. He asks for his love to be given to him the way he wants it, but then is surprised he can’t find something that lasts…The song is basically me joking about how selfish I can be sometimes, and how I must seem to my friends and family every so often."

“Gimme” follows “Ri¢h Kids” as the second single from Shiffley’s upcoming EP. Stream “Gimme” on digital platforms tomorrow, February 2.
