Totally 2000s Q+A: Nightly Talks New Single "On Your Sleeve"

GRAPHIC: Erika Kellerman

Nashville alt-pop band Nightly has been taking over Spotify playlists and stages since 2016.

The trio recently released their single “On Your Sleeve,” which expresses the vulnerability of wanting to date someone who started out as a good friend, but then ending up in a “Will they/Won’t they” situation because that person doesn’t want to admit to their feelings. The song is a call-out to trust our instincts, not second guess something that may or may not be right for us and to just go for it. We have only one life to live, right?

“On Your Sleeve” features lyrics that illustrate the scenario incredibly vividly, making it easy for fans to relate to the story.

“And I wish you’d try me on like I'm a sweatshirt in your closet/Even if it falls apart someday/At least we're being honest” are such god-tier lyrics (and a great call back to their 2016 single Honest.)

Three lines stand out in particular and are sure to have fans screaming every word along with the band during their upcoming tour.

Musical Notes Global was able to chat with Nightly recently for a throwback-style, early 2000s teen magazine-inspired interview. Find out some fun facts about the band below!
